manroland at IFRA Expo 2009
August 31, 2009 (Germany) - With the One Touch vision and new press series autoprint manroland has introduced and shown automation solutions for all relevant parts of the production process. The focus of the presentation of manroland and ppi Media (their main topic is the cross media tool AdInvent) at IFRA Expo 2009 will be on further developments of the One Touch vision for single user operation.
In line with One Touch, manroland has developed the new autoprint press series, which is characterized by key automation modules. One goal is to shorten make-ready times. Pioneering developments for fully automated printing processes include e. g. a fully automatic plate change from manroland, APL (Automatic Plate Loading) and APL logistics (the automatic transport from the CTP system to the printing tower) that is now in operation at first customer sites.
Besides the makeready improvements the second big goal is the entire inline control of the printing process. During print runs, the newspaper press will be controlled by Inline Control systems for ink density control, color and cutoff register, web tension and temperature. All automated functions are integrated in one workflow and one control console. manroland and ppi Media will show these functions on the basis of concrete customer applications at IFRA Expo.
