MAN Roland Greater China’s PraxisDialog seminars focus on operation cost saving when using quality printing supplies
March 7, 2008 (Hong Kong) MAN Roland Greater China’s Printing Supplies Department recently held PraxisDialog seminars on “High Quality Printing Supplies and Low Operation Costs” in Dongguan and Shanghai respectively. The objective was to demonstrate to our prestigious customers how the “Differentiation Strategy” would bring about competitive advantages.
“In the face of heightening competitive pressure in the local print industry, many printers had the wrong impression that by the using cheaper printing supplies, they can lower the operation costs,” said Mr. Thomas Luk, Head of Printing Supplies of MAN Roland Greater China. “The truth is there is no quality guarantee on these cheap printing supplies. At the same time users will also incur additional service and maintenance fees, resulting in greater operation losses. Therefore, to better safeguard their capital investments and expand customer’s base, printers have to acquire good quality printing supplies which are the key to success.”
At the seminars, MAN Roland Greater China specially invited two top experts in the field to be the keynote speakers who gave all printers a comprehensive analysis on how to achieve success in the printing industry. This first speaker was Professor Zhao Zhiqiang of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication who offered academic and professional advice on how to make use of the differentiation strategy to lower costs and raise operational effectiveness. Professor Zhao gave a precise overview on the importance of differentiation by making case analysis. He believed that no matter for bigsized or smallandmediumsized printing enterprises, they were all facing intense market competition and increasing challenges. The key to creating a competitive edge hinges on how well one is using the differentiation strategy. To gain a place in the fierce market competition, printers should apply the differentiation strategy in the use of printing supplies, create their own uniqueness, actively foster the enterprise characteristics and create advantages based on their characteristics.
Next came State Certified Printing Engineer Mr. Alexander Stangel, who shared with his audience on how to distinguish fine quality printing supplies that meet the highest printing standards from a professional technical point of view. According to him, there is a link between each type of printing supplies and there will be a chain reaction when one is improperly used. This will affect the printing quality, efficiency and the life span of the printing press. Therefore, printers should acquire printing supplies with quality assurance and should not base their purchase decisions on prices alone.
